I have been working like crazy for a few months to get my kitchen redone! Like I painted all of the cabinets (with the help of Angela), my brother built my cabinet about the microwave. All new flooring and hardware on the doors. I painted the counter tops and HATED them. I will share with that this week...then ordered new ones and they are finally here (which I should of done in the first place!)..I'm so ready for this to be back to normal. I sold the island that is in the first pic and debating on the one that I have for it. I was going to paint it black but now I have my house on the market! HA... So just wanted to share a peek and then in the next week, will share the pics and the process.

It has been awhile that I have posted anything and between me and Angela right now things have been wild, overwhelming and just plain tiring with life.

Between decided to either quit my regular RN job and stay home to make jewelry along with this business has stressed me out to the point that I had shingles a few weeks ago! Shingles, crazy but I am recovering and still have no idea what I am going to do! Praying for God to show me the way.

Angela is still making signs and selling them but then her father died unexpectedly and was buried last week. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. She learned most of what she does from her daddy. She even did some electrical work last year at my house and I remember her telling me when I was freaking out that my house my catch on fire..hahaha..that her daddy taught her how to do all of it!

The post today is all about the craft/office room! Before our son from Ghana came home I made crafts in his new room. It was a perfect room, I could just close the door all the time and not worry about any of my business taking over! I don't have a pic of it anywhere but once we got the room painted and had to decide what to do with my business I made this closet where I would stamp daily

It was actually nice. I could also shut the door.. but I had no space and I always had stuff everywhere especially when I was mailing out 50+orders every few days!

So then comes the bright idea to get rid of a room that is downstairs. It's just a sitting room and only the dogs and cats sit in there. It has no doors but maybe in the future I could get some sliding doors. Here is an older pic of what the room looked like

Nice room...when we moved in! I ended up getting rid  most of everything in this room minus the huge pallet table that was the new coffee table but I am sure it will go soon.  The only thing bad about the room is there are no doors and it's right when you walk in the front door.. which means it has to stay cleaned all the time!!

After I painted the whole house, this was the room that was left with the gold colors. So I first went and bought some paint at Sherwin Williams called Light French Gray and oh it is just precious. .It is the perfect gray and I love it. Here are some pics taken from my phone after painting was done.

Notice that sweet kitty in the background..I love her!

After I did all the painting and cleaned the floors it was time to get to work!

Here is what the almost finished product looks like minus a few things I need to just go and look for and just haven't had the time yet!

Look at my sweet Max just laying on the chair like he owns the place!

The table is large and I wanted it counter height for a number or reason.1) to let A do some crafts and homework when I was working. 2) When we have people over they can sit and eat (kids) 3) I wanted to stand up (cause I stand up making crafts better!)  Ang made the table for me and the chairs are a craigslist find that need to be cut down just a little so my fat legs can fit under it. I will paint the chairs soon as it gets warm here.

I placed the long box on the back wall and filled mason jars with paint brushes, glue sticks, and some large glass vases for paints and such. My sewing machine is to the right and I am looking forward to get back to sewing soon I hope.

I stenciled Create on the all and hung my sign with my shop name along with my Haiti kids sign around the world and then the chalkboard with one of my fav songs ever and was the one of the songs that got me through the adoption in Ghana!

To the side near the window is a brown chair that has been in every room of this house! Now it's in here I guess for the dogs to sleep on since you see he's not in his bed!
The cute small table that was outside is now inside and holds this lamp and the very small oval piece is what my mom painted 30 years ago when she free painted and had her own business. I love having a little piece of her talent here in this room.

Another gallery wall of course. Just love them. The beach sign my hubby had made for me while we were in St Lucia for our anniversary. It fits perfect with all the colors that I have and reminds me daily how lucky I am to have a man that loves me like he does.

Just a sweet glass cabinet filled with some of my favorite things and I do need some curtains or sheers on the windows! Maybe I will make me some soon.

This is where I get creative and make my jewelry. I found the wood table at home depot a few years ago and it is perfect for all the hammering that I do. This is on the back wall so you can't see it when you come in. It can be messy!

I got this vanity at Missy's Treasures (sweet girl on FB) and Mark laughed when he saw it because it is an antique and it's smaller than the average desk. It's perfect for me and this room is all mine so I am just fine.I need to get a chair that is comfortable for me stamping as well and I need a nice tall light where the sign is.Ang made the sign for me since I am a French fry freak!

This is my second life job! This is where I sit most at in my entire house!

Cute lamp that I painted and placed the flower on it.I have to have something on a shade..not sure why but it's like and obsession now for me.

One thing that did not change from room to room transfer was the pic with all of my fav people on there. When I am feeling stressed or just not sure if I am doing the right thing, sometimes I look up and see all of these people that I love or have loved and say a prayer for them and then keep on stamping. Some have left to be with Jesus and some are in another country but they are never far from my thoughts or my heart and I see them every single day when I look up at that board.

Looking back out the other door.

There you go! A nice room all ready for some crafting and a business all in one.I would love to have a rug but Max will pee on it so that is a waste of time for me!

Several people have asked about my stairs and the gallery wall that has transpired over the last few years. I thought I would give some ideas on how to get it started. I LOVE gallery walls..really LOVE! I think my obsession with them are out of control and they are everywhere! But I've always been a big fan of having pics of my family all around me so this is the same just with some extras involved.

So when we bought our house in 2006,it was my dream home! I loved everything about it (well besides the kitchen but that is fixing to change)..everything else was perfect. We have been here awhile and have done some major decorating and I find that it never stops.

Here is the pic of the day we closed. Nice crisp unpainted walls for lots of fingerprints while going down the stairs.Don't you love that cute window??

So within a few weeks we hired someone to come and paint the walls up the stairs since we thought maybe we would die if we did it. Of course it was again the color taupe or gold I might add.It wasn't bad but now I can't imagine it that color.

I loved that it had hardwood on the steps instead of carpet but man they are still hard to keep clean with 3 boys and 2 dogs.

I had decided to do some pics along the wall and wanted black and white so I started with this first.

I added things along the way through the years and it looked like this pic.

I guess it doesn't look bad but as you can see I was painting the whole house! We were right in the middle of an adoption from Africa and this really was the only way for me to stay sane..Paint..I repainted the whole house except for the office that is getting ready for it.

This time My hubby decided to get on the ladder and risk his life for me! I held my breath the whole time.

And painting on a ladder with flip flips! Can't take the California man out of him. He did survive and I was happy!

Today It looks like this..It is my happy. The paint is Benjamin Moore Coventry Blue.It looks grey, blue and a tint of green in at times. The pics stay crooked some of the times as you can tell but they are beautiful. When you first come up with the idea to do a wall you need a plan.Plan for your what pics you want, plan for some odds and ends to go with it and then a color scheme.

I knew black and white pics were my choice and I love the turquoise blue,so I just added some of that into the wall with lots of K's for our last name and I had my perfect wall.I did try and choose frames that were the glass kind.

I still have a few more to add up around the top but mostly that is where the kids touch when they come down the stairs so I am afraid that they might knock them down.

Just to show you some stuff that I have on the stairs that I really love is the sigh. When we were praying for several years about adoption,I just assumed it would be a girl and she would be from Haiti since we  have done mission work there for several years, but God had different plans for us and when I went on a trip to Ghana,Africa and met a boy at the orphanage and was blown away by what God was asking me to do,which was adopt this boy..when I had other plans! I was obedient and our son came home in August of last year and So this sign means something to me. We should always delight in the unexpected, you never know what it will be!
You can purchase this sign on ETSY here but she has a lovely display in Asheville,NC too.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/OldFortStudios?ref=pr_faveshops

This was made for our birthdays with our wedding anniversary in the middle. This is the 2nd one I got since we added to our family. It is perfect.I purchased it on Zazzle.

My great grandmother made this for me when I was younger and my mom put it in a frame for me.It is really special to me.This is the only thing I have of what she has made. She was a crafty lady and had a beautiful soul. I never heard her once complain or ever say a harsh word to anyone. When I walk down and see this I am reminded of her daily and wish she was alive to see my boys.

It is good to have some vinyl as well in the small spaces and of course know that we are a family of 5,gotta have a number there.

Upon painting all of the walls I decided to paint the banisters and the steps.I would of loved to have the iron banisters but not like having to pay the price so I just got to work.Spent 2 days doing these and felt like I had been in a car wreck the next 2 days..It was tiresome and I was very sore for the record! But it tied it all together and very pleased. The steps do not stay as dirty as they did with shoes scuffing them up but I do have to keep them clean just as much as before.

At the very top of the stairs is a large frame that I spray painted and placed some pics around it.The wall always seemed bare to me so this was perfect..if only I could get rid of the smoke alarm.

Going down the stairs now and don't you just love the window..Its so cute

At the bottom is this little area.I had a small table there but it was just too big. This is actually an old mirror without the mirror and turned upside down! Cute huh??

So there you go..Gallery wall complete...Hope you enjoyed looking at it and you can always contact me or my partner Angela for any questions or a consultation for us to help you complete your wall or stairs for you..

 Blessings as always, Lisa
